Math
On Monday, we will do a walk around the classroom review to help the students prepare for their test. We will hand back your child's review that they turned in last week. This will allow you to have it the night before the test to review, if you wish.
We will also be starting our unit of measurement, beginning with time. We will create an interactive word wall to define vocabulary words such as, hour hand, minute hand, analog, digital, clock face, etc. Over the next couple weeks, we will be practicing telling time to the hour and half hour.
On Friday, the students will create a clock face and relating it to a number line. The students will be given 12 small sticky notes that they will write 1-12. First, the students will arrange their sticky notes into a number line so that the numbers are in order. Then, the students will work together to shape the numbers into a circle to form the face of a clock.
We will read the story, It's About Time by Steward Murphy and play time bingo.

We will cover the following objectives:
- We can analyze and record how organisms depend on other living things in various situations to survive.
- Animals need food to survive, which can include plants or other animals.
- Animals can use plants for shelter, such as birds building nests from plant materials or fish hiding in aquatic plants.
We will continue to investigate and analyze the interdependence among living organisms by taking a closer look at how energy is transferred through a food chain - beginning with the sun and working all the way up to the top of the chain.
