Gifted and Talented Screening Deadline for Grades 1-4
Reminder: Parent Checklists for parents who wish to refer their child in grades 1-4 for Gifted and Talented (Challenge) screening for the 2018-2019 school year are due Wednesday, December 6, 2017, to the counselor. An explanatory letter was previously sent home the week of 10/31 with every child. A checklist can be picked up at the school front office or can be downloaded from the Katy ISD website at http://www.katyisd.org/dept/GT/Pages/default.aspx under Elementary Parent Checklist. NEW Dismissal Procedures for Kindergarten/1st grade Walkers & Bikers
Effective 12/11/2017
Walker Dismissal
Kindergarten and 1st grade students will only be released to a parent/guardian or designated adult with the matching colored dismissal tag.
All kindergarten and 1st grade parents of students that are walkers will meet their child at the campus bike rider racks.
Please make sure you bring your walker tag with you to pick up your kindergarten and/or 1st grade child every day. Each family will receive 2 walker dismissal tags per student. Teachers will have student tags to attach to student backpacks. If you do not have your walker tag with you, you will be asked to go to the front office with proper identification to sign out your child and receive a replacement tag after 3:45 p.m. You must bring your ID to receive a replacement.
Written permission must be provided to the front office for Kinder and 1st grade siblings to be permitted to walk home with an older PE student. Students’ backpack tags are marked indicating that a note has been provided to the front office.
Parents may not park on campus to pick up students as walkers. If parents park on campus to pick up students, you will be asked to enter the car rider line and the student will be dismissed as a car rider.
Bike Rider Dismissal

If you do not have your biker dismissal tag, you will be asked to go to the front office with proper identification to sign out your child and receive a replacement tag after 3:45 p.m. You must bring your ID to receive a replacement.
